Welcome to Radio Looe, your local non-profit community radio station!

We are back on the airwaves, completely revitalised and ready to bring the soundtrack of our beautiful town back in to your home and business.

Radio looe is a registered Community Interest Company (CIC), this means we don't answer to corporate shareholders, we answer to you. Every single penny of profit goes directly back into supporting the Looe community.

Whether you loved Radio Looe that was created by our dear friend Neil Hipkiss but sadly closed when he passed or tuning in for the first time, we've built a musical home for you. We are bridging the generation gap through the power of great music and local interviews and talk shows. Our massive playlist spans across eight decades of incredible music.

Why we do it?

We know the town missed having it;s own dedicated station after we sadly closed our doors a while back but we used that time to regroup, rebuild and return stronger than ever before. Looe is a unique, vibrant and very close community and we believe it deserves a radio station that celebrates that fact every single day. We aren't just about playing music, we are here to shout about local events, support local businesses (Check out our incredible money saving vouchers page) support local bands and home grown talent and keep you informed everything that is happening in our incredible town.

Welcome To The Team

Hi, I'm Jill.

My husband, Steve, first brought me to Looe in 1986 and we finally fulfilled our dream of retiring here in 2017. Although I'm 66 (2026) I don't believe in acting my age, I love life and enjoy making the most of every opportunity. We have two sons and three wonderful grandchildren who keep life full of fun and laughter.

My working life has been varied and rewarding, I left school at 16 to begin an apprenticeship in hairdressing but after two years I decided to pursue a different career, Steve and I were saving for our first home and my £10.00 a week apprentice wage wasn't going to get us there very quickly!

I joined Olympus Sports as a sales advisor and within six months was promoted to manage my own branch at the tender age of 19! After raising our two sons I spent 10 years at our local Spar before moving into customer service roles where I found my real passion for working with people.

Like many others, I was made redundant from a job I genuinely loved during the 2008 financial crisis and from then until my retirement in 2022, I enjoyed a variety of part time roles, meeting new people and gaining more life experience along the way.

One of the highlights of my retirement has been presenting a Sunday evening radio show with my good friend Sue Ellis on the original Radio Looe , the Patsy and Eddie show where we loved entertaining our listeners with our light hearted , tongue-in-cheek humour and it's a real priviege to be back behind the microphone with the newly resurrected Radio Looe and we're looking forward to sharing many more laughs with our listeners.

I'm Sue. although around Looe most people know me as Ellis. I've called this wonderful town home since 1979 and for many years I worked at Drinkmaster in Liskeard before finding my way back behind the bar where I became known as the Yorkshire barmaid who loved a good laugh and making sure everyone had a good time.

These days things have slowed down a bit after I had an accident which left me with a badly broken arm which thankfully hasn't affected my gift of the gab or my sense of humour!

I am absolutely thrilled that radio Looe is back and the thought of Jill mayor and I reuniting as 'Patsy and Eddie' Radio Looe's mad comedy duo, has me chuckling before we even get behind the mic. Our show became so popular that we had listeners not only here in Cornwall but as far afield as Australia and Jamaica so if your ready for plenty of laughs, a few stories, some fond memories and who knows what else , tune in and join us. I can't wait to be back on the air sharing the fun with you all!

My name is Neil Perrins I'm 72 years old (2026) and was born in Walsall in the West Midlands and have been married to my wife Jennifer for 49 years.

I was very fortunate to have been born in an era with such incredible music and on the estate where I lived was also the home to Noddy Holder of Slade and Rob Holford of Judas Priest. This was a time when people went out to listen to music regularly and I was fortunate to live close to the National Indoor Arena where I saw many great bands perform.

My main employment was as a civil servant for almost 24 years and then became self employed selling engineering consumables until we moved to Cornwall in 2005 where I closed my business to become a carer for my wife who was unwell.

I became a member of Liskeard Lions and was involved in many charity events and also assisted a friend showing shire horses for several years and joined the crew who started the original Looe Music Festival.

When the original Radio Looe was set up by Neil Hipkiss (Please see the page dedicated to Neil) he kindly asked me to do a one hour show and of course I said yes! That one hour show turned into over 150 shows and I enjoyed every single one of them , it was something I had never done before and it gave me immense pleasure working on them.

I am originally from South London who moved to Cambridge, then Brighton and eventually settled in this glorious corner of South East Cornwall.

I owned and ran Penvith barns B and B and launched Looe Yurts soon after lockdown and my passion for all forms of dance music led to my original 'Kitchen Shuffle Show' on Radio Looe with genres of Philly Soul, 80s R & B, UK Garage and Ibiza Bangers and every show had you dancing round the kitchen.

I aim to continue this theme with the reserected Radio Looe and join all the other presenters to make the station a real part of the fabric of Looe from the fishing community, the schools, local businesses and the ever important tourist industry.

I'm aiming to help with outside broadcast events and help everyone who has a role in this wonderful station and community.

Hi all, I'm Mik Lee and left school in 1986 to work for a locksmiths . I came to Looe in 1984 and fell in love with the place and eventually moved here in 1989 and I have been here ever since. My work history has mainly been in pub management and I have managed The Admiral Boscarn, The Bullers Arms, The Fisherman's Arms and The Ship Inn.

I have since developed a huge interest in birds of prey and display my birds at various holiday camps and festivals. I love music and my taste is both varied and eclectic and includes Pink Floyd and Leonard Cohen and everything in between. I love festivals and have attended Glastonbury, Beautiful Days, Looe Music Festival and Looe saves the day both as a punter and a performer. I was thrilled to be asked to join Radio Looe and I cannot wait to get going.

Hi everyone, I'm Lamorna Spry. I am a classical viola player who also loves playing folk and country music. I also play fiddle in the shanty group Fiddle Me Timbers and occasionally for the DerryAirs. I have many interests and one of them is being the Kernow correspondent for Folk Life Magazine and also for the last few years I've enjoyed running the Crantock Music Festival that concentrates on giving a platform to many talented local bands and soloists. As a proud Cornish woman I'm very interested in Cornish culture and I was a former chair of Cornwall Heritage Trust where I developed the popular Cornish Story Cafes. I am currently an editor of CornishStory.com and I am looking forward to not only playing great music but sharing the fascinating local history here at Radio Looe.
